Having your skis or board properly tuned enhances your experience and maximizes the life of your equipment. We offer friendly, prompt service that is designed to fit your needs and schedule. Our professional, full time staff will evaluate your skis or board and determine the services that will best suit your needs. We will then tune or adjust your equipment using state of the art machines and hand finish each job to ensure an unparalleled level of quality. Gerk’s winter gear tuning is available at our Redmond location only.
Gerk’s Ski and Board Tuning – Services and Pricing
Full Ski/Board Tune - $50.00
Our full tune is ideal for gear that has mild to moderate damage and requires some repair of the base with new material. Once the damaged areas have been filled, we pass your gear through our cutting edge Wintersteiger stone grinder which enables us the get your base perfectly flat and put a structured pattern into it. Each ski/board is then sent through our Wintersteiger ceramic disc edge finisher which provides a factory finish on your edge. Finally, we hand finish your edges and apply a coat of condition specific hot wax.
Basic Ski/Board Tune - $40.00
This service is ideal for skis that do not have any base damage but would still benefit from an edge sharpening and a base grind.
Kids Tune - $25.00
Keep your kids happy and safe by having us tune their skis. Our kids tune is designed to be an economical option that flattens the ski, sharpens the edge, and provides a protective coat of hot wax.
Deburr and Wax - $25.00
This service is designed for gear that doesn’t need to be sent through our stonegrinder but still requires an edge sharpening and a hot wax.
Binding Mount - $40.00
Each binding mount includes a binding function test and a hot wax. If you purchase one part of your ski or board package from us your mount will be ½ price, if you purchase 2 or more components it will be free.
Binding Adjustment and Test - $25.00
Binding manufacturers recommend testing your bindings at least once each season to ensure proper functioning. Each binding adjustment we do includes a full function test and a hot wax.
Hot Wax - $15.00
If your board or skis just needs wax our hand hot wax will get you gliding.
Base Welds - $5.00 ea.
If you and your ski found a rock or some other obstacle and your ski has more severe damage, you may need a base weld. This process is commonly done only in one small area of the ski to repair bad damage commonly referred to as a “core shot”. When we check your ski in, our staff will tell you if you need any welding with your tune.
